Mole Removal
What is a Mole?
Moles or Nevi are typical skin growth that appear as small, dark brown spots caused by clusters of melanocytes in the skin. Melanocytes are pigment-forming cells that give color to the eyes, skin, and hair. Typically, humans have ten to forty moles throughout their bodies that appear during their childhood and adolescence phases. However, these moles may fade or change in appearance as they age. Likewise, new moles may surface from teenage hood to adulthood. They develop anywhere in your body, like the scalp, armpits, intimate areas, under the nails, or between the toes and fingers. Many of these moles develop before reaching 50, but they turn a shade darker in puberty due to hormonal changes.
Moles are harmless, but it doesn’t go the same for others, for some are indications of malignant skin cancers, especially when they start evolving and changing. Since most moles are harmless, there is no need for treatment. Nevertheless, if you’re conscious about its appearance, especially when you perceive it unsightly, you may have it removed at aesthetic clinics.
How do we remove moles?
Typically, mole removal treatments involve surgical procedures and cauterization. However, mole surgical treatments may result in scarring, especially if the mole is prominent and has deep roots. Fortunately, board-certified doctors have proposed non-surgical, non-invasive alternative procedures to make it inclusive and encompassing. These treatments are clinically tried, tested, and proven safe and effective to administer through various clinical trials.
Some of the famous non-surgical, non-invasive medical modalities for mole laser removal are Radiosurgery, which is similar to high-frequency lasers, Intense Pulse Light (IPL), Nd Yag and KTP, and CO2 fractional laser, a medical modality we administer at AMOA640 Skin Clinic for our mole removal treatment. The CO2 laser mole removal provides a scar-free mole removal on the skin that safely removes the mole through a series of sessions while simultaneously preventing scarring. However, you must note that non-surgical laser mole removal modalities are only appropriate for non-cancerous ones.
How does Mole Removal treatment work?
Presently, many dermatology and aesthetic clinics offer a variety of medical modalities to treat warts and unsightly moles, especially on the face or unclothed skin areas, like arms, hands, legs, and neck. The laser mole treatment works by destroying the mole while avoiding scarring in one treatment. It removes the mole and scars by removing the top layers of the skin while keeping the other layers safe from adverse effects.
Among the medical modalities for mole removal, the CO2 fractional laser works best because it has high penetration and energy than usual lasers that generate 10600-10800nm wavelength. With this, the CO2 laser has a longer wavelength and better penetration, allowing it to target deep into the underlying layer of the skin to break the clustered melanin responsible for the formulation of moles.
At the AMOA540 Skin Clinic, you must undergo a face-to-face consultation with our board-certified doctor for a mole consultation. They will assess whether the mole you want to be removed is non-cancerous and safe for the mole removal treatment. Please note that all treatments at our skin clinic will require you to have a face-to-face consultation with our doctor prior to the treatment. Then, they may suggest other facial treatments you may want to proceed with your other skin issues like skin laxity, acne, and more.
Once you have the doctor’s approval, a licensed technician will escort you to one of our treatment rooms to have your skin prepped and clean the surface of the moles to be treated. Then, they will use topical numbing cream on the target area to avoid discomfort or pain during the procedure. Afterward, they will use the CO2 fractional laser device to treat your moles and warts. Then, the technician will use regenerative tape to help with wound healing and regenerative properties for optimal results and healing. Lastly, they will use post-treatment creams and sunscreen because the treatment has no downtime and you may resume your day.

The Laser Mole Treatment is the best among the best laser mole removal treatments in the field of cosmetology, considering it has a longer wavelength and penetrates better than other medical modalities for mole removal. Additionally, it is a top-notch non-surgical, non-invasive alternative treatment for mole and wart surgical treatments and has no downtime. It brings no adverse effect to nearby tissues and layers of the skin and offers skin regeneration.
The treatment is most suited for individuals suffering from prominent and unsightly moles on the face. However, it only treats non-cancerous and non-malignant ones. So, a mole consultation with our board-certified doctor is a must. Also, please note that we only administer this treatment to consenting adults or those of legal age for safety purposes. The mole laser removal only works on the superficial mole and may not work on deep-rooted ones. Thus, you may still need to undergo surgical procedures for those.
Many of our patients have found one session sufficient, but our doctor recommends two to three sessions to remove the mole entirely. Please note that the treated area will form a scan, and you must not forcefully peel it off, for it will gradually fall within 7-14 days. Moreover, the treated area may look red and hollow and require at least 3-6 months before it can regenerate completely. However, it is on a case-to-case basis. You must also make sure to avoid direct sunlight and use sunscreen every day.
