V-Ro HIFU

What is V-Ro HIFU

The V-Ro HIFU is another variant of our V-Ro series treatment, which uses a different modality: ultrasound. Unlike the V-Ro Radiofrequency, it uses an ultrasound device to stimulate the regenerative components of the body and does not have fat-burning properties found in the other procedure. However, both treatments are proven safe and effective in treating skin laxity and aging issues, such as prominent pore appearance, wrinkles, fine lines, expression lines, smile lines, and cheeks.

The V-Ro HIFU treatment uses high-intensity ultrasound (HIFU) to treat the above-stated issues. Many individuals come to aesthetic and dermatology clinics with the same concerns regarding facial wrinkles and elasticity loss brought by intrinsic (natural process) and extrinsic (outside stressors) aging. As a result, doctors proposed varying non-surgical and minimally invasive to non-invasive procedures, such as radiofrequency and fractional lasers. Subsequently, they have found that ultrasound is highly effective in treating skin laxity issues and proposed the high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU). In 2009, the FDA approved the utilization of HIFU to treat brow lifting by inducing cellular damage and reducing the volume of the target area through coagulation to generate microthermal (heat) wounds for collagen stimulation. This process allows the dermis to respond by stimulating more regenerative properties to maintain a healthy skin appearance without harming the epidermal (epidermis) layer and adjacent tissues. Thus, it has no adverse effects.

Over time, the doctors widened the field of expertise in HIFU. They tried clinically testing the effectiveness of HIFU found in our V-Ro HIFU treatment in treating skin laxity and aging issues on the face and décolletage. According to data, the procedure has shown positive results, making it a safe and effective alternative to facelifts. Moreover, HIFU became the ultimate and newest generation of non-surgical and non-invasive facelifts. Traditional facelifts involve the incisions and grafting of the face to alter the facial appearance of the patients. Its purpose is to remove tissues and muscles in the face and neck that are sagging. Consequently, many individuals do not want to get cut open for reasons uninvolving their health, considering surgical operations are extremely expensive and have downtime and risks.

How does it work?

The high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) was initially proposed as a medical means to treat chronic illnesses, tumors, and cancers, and it has proven its effectiveness in that field. However, through groundbreaking development of its application to cosmetology, many doctors recommend it as a non-surgical and non-invasive alternative to facelifts. Our V-Ro HIFU contains the same properties as the HIFU treatment, and it works by delivering focused ultrasound energy to specific layers of the skin in the dermis (below the surface of the skin). Then, the energy heats the tissue rapidly to undergo cellular damage at the appropriate temperature. Afterward, the damaged cells trigger the skin to produce more collagen and other regenerative properties responsible for keeping the skin firm, healthy, and plump.

Despite the cellular damage process in the V-Ro HIFU treatment, there is no damage to the nearby tissues and epidermal layer during the procedure because the V-Ro targets specific layers. With this, the body appears tauter and brighter. Indeed, the treatment looks promising, safe, and effective. However, not all patients are compatible with it due to dilemmas similar to health issues, pregnancy, breastfeeding, and severe skin damage.

At the AMOA640 Skin Clinic, we ensure that you undergo a face-to-face consultation with our board-certified doctor beforehand to guarantee that no present factors may cause problems during and after the V-Ro HIFU treatment. Also, the doctor may recommend you combine it with the V-Ro High-frequency or other lifting treatments for optimal results because the combination of V-Ro HIFU and radiofrequency treatments is (definitely) noteworthy and way better.

Once you have the go-signal for the treatment, our licensed technician will guide you to one of our treatment rooms to have your skin prepped. Skin prep is a must at our clinic to ensure that no impurities and make-up will hinder the treatment’s optimal results and hygiene purposes. Then, the doctor will administer the V-Ro HIFU treatment. The doctor may suggest you use a topical numbing cream for this, but you have the option to decline. We want to certify that you don’t feel discomfort throughout the procedure. Afterward, the technician will apply post-treatment creams and sunscreen because you may immediately resume your routine, and sunscreen is essential for skin protection.

Others

The V-Ro HIFU treatment is similar to the V-Ro Radiofrequency ones regarding the superficial targets and benefits. They only differ in the procedure, device, and process. Thus, our doctor recommends that you combine the two for the perfect V-line everyone desires. Since the V-Ro HIFU is a non-surgical and non-invasive alternative treatment to facelifts, it is temporary and won’t achieve results from skin grafting and incisions. Nevertheless, it is a superior skin lifting procedure, considering it is the newest generation among skin liting treatments and is FDA-approved. Moreover, it has no downtime and risks compared to surgical procedures.

The V-Ro HIFU treatment is appropriate for individuals suffering from mild to moderate skin laxity and other physical indications of aging, like wrinkles. Thus, it is best suited for individuals aging from their early thirties and beyond, although we have younger patients (with the doctor’s approval). Moreover, the treatment is safe for all skin types and colors, but a face-to-face consultation is (still) a must beforehand because we value your health with the utmost importance.

The V-Ro treatment is (only) done once or twice a year, depending on the doctor’s recommendation. You may also experience numbness, swelling, and slight redness on treated areas, so you best avoid touching your face, but fear not, for it will immediately subside within a day or two. The treated areas are also sensitive to the touch, so you may experience a slight tingling sensation that (may) last up to 3 days (harmless).
